Choose your programs before submitting an Evercore 2028 application. A limited application is worth a careful comparison of the actual work, your evidence and your interest in the team.
The verified application rules
Checked September 27, 2026 against the official New York Generalist M&A posting:
- Application window: September 9–November 15, 2026.
- Graduation window: December 2028–June 2029; undergraduate applicants across majors.
- Maximum two applications; withdrawing a submission does not restore a slot.
- Review is not rolling, according to this posting.
Recheck the posting before applying. We have not verified an interview calendar or a closing time zone. Do not turn the calendar date into an assumed midnight deadline. This guide is independent, not an Evercore hiring instruction or endorsement.
A two-choice worksheet
Open the exact program pages side by side. Use the following worksheet before using either application. These are decision prompts, not a formula for predicting acceptance.
| Question | Evidence to write down | Stop signal |
|---|---|---|
| Am I eligible? | Degree, graduation window, location and any additional requirements | A mismatch you have not clarified |
| Do I understand the work? | Two tasks described by this team, in your own words | You can only explain why the firm is prestigious |
| Can I show relevant curiosity? | A real project, reading, conversation or class and what you learned | A borrowed story you cannot discuss |
| Why this team? | A specific connection between the work and your interests | The same paragraph works unchanged for every program |
| What is my preparation gap? | One topic you cannot yet explain clearly | You have no time or plan to address it |
For example, comparing M&A with equities sales and trading is a choice between different work. The official New York equities internship describes sales and trading rotations and a stock pitch. Do not submit an M&A motivation answer unchanged for that role. Our sales and trading interview guide helps you identify the different preparation involved.
What non-rolling review changes
Use the stated window to improve application quality and select programs deliberately. It does not mean you should wait for the final day. A file upload issue or unanswered eligibility question can still prevent a valid submission.
Set an internal review date that gives you time to resolve problems. Label that date “my target,” separate from the employer deadline in your 2028 application tracker. Do not treat this firm's policy as evidence about another firm's review process.
Before pressing submit
- Confirm the role title, office, program year and requisition ID.
- Check your graduation-year eligibility.
- Open the exact PDF you are uploading. Check name, contact details, dates, legibility and unwanted comments.
- Make sure every experience claim is something you can defend. An incoming internship is not completed experience.
- Review your program choices and how many applications you have already submitted.
- Save the confirmation and final document version after submission. A saved draft is not proof of an application.
Prepare after submission without guessing the process
Start with your resume walkthrough and one clear explanation of why this work interests you. Then test accounting links, enterprise versus equity value and a DCF explanation using the technical learning order. Read any assessment invitation before deciding what to rehearse next.
An Evercore event may help you understand a team, but registration is not an application or a promise of consideration. The 2028 recruiting hub keeps the rest of your process separate from this employer-specific decision.
