Read the invitation before practicing or launching the assessment. Confirm the required action, deadline, time zone, duration, equipment and permitted resources. An invitation is a task to complete, not proof of an offer or a particular interview stage.

Do not assume the rules from a friend’s assessment apply to yours. JPMorganChase’s FAQ describes different assessment formats and notes that applicable retake restrictions are communicated to candidates. Follow your own instructions.
Separate setup practice from assessment assistance
Before beginning, test the device through the provided setup process. Practice explaining a real experience and basic technical concepts independently. During the assessment, follow the permitted-tools rules; do not use undisclosed outside help, another person’s answers or leaked prompts.
For a recorded answer, a useful rehearsal is to explain one task, your action, a result you can substantiate and what you learned. Stop recording practice when you can deliver a coherent answer without reading. This is preparation guidance, not a claim about how an employer scores the assessment.
Handle a technical problem with evidence
Fictional case: your connection drops after the first response. Note the time, error message and stage. Use the official support route and explain exactly what happened. Ask whether the submission is complete and what recovery steps are allowed. Avoid repeatedly starting new attempts if the instructions limit retries.
A short message can say: “For [requisition], the assessment stopped at [stage/time/time zone] with [error]. The portal currently shows [status]. Could you confirm whether an attempt was recorded and the permitted next step?” Include only necessary information. Do not send your password or publish assessment questions in a public forum.
Request an accommodation through the employer’s stated channel when needed; do not assume an extension has been granted until confirmed. Plan enough time before the actual deadline to resolve setup issues without manufacturing urgency.
After completing the task, save the receipt and update the application tracker. If the portal still says submitted, the status evidence guide explains what that does and does not establish. Summer 2028 candidates should use the recruiting desk for eligibility and official postings; this checklist does not announce a new assessment policy for that cycle.
